5 Business Ideas For Women Who Want to Make a BIG Impact

If you are considering starting a business or the one you’re working on isn’t turning out the way you hoped, you’re in the right place!

I’m going to share some business ideas for women who want to create an income of at least $100k a year even though they may have plenty of family, friends and obligations to work around. Let’s start at the beginning…

Business Ideas For Women

1. Why do you want to start a business?

This must run DEEP. Starting and running a business will challenge and stretch you in ways you never imagined… It will also be one of the most rewarding endeavors of your lifetime.

Women typically don’t start businesses to make money. They start businesses so they can travel the world with their families… They start businesses because they want to empower the next generation of women… They start businesses because they want to ensure their kids never go in debt or ever need a student loan… Women go into business because they know to their bones that their work matters and makes the world a better place.

2. What do you want from the business?

This is not natural for women to consider, but it’s extremely important. I have said many times, it’s a waste to start a business and ask anything less than $100k a year from it.

The reason behind this is that it takes the SAME amount of energy to run a business that gives you a $20k paycheck as it does to run one that gives you a $120k profit… In fact, I would argue that a business that brings in a low income creates friction and conflict in a marriage and is discouraging to even the most determined of women.

If you have the “I want to help people” thought circling in your mind, remember this — the only way you actually can help people is to not need help yourself. Create an amazing income, build an empire, and use your money to create the life you desire for those you love and care about most. Decide what you want and decide to think BIG.

3. What do you have experience in?

Think of everything you’ve been involved in and all the different jobs and careers you’ve had…

  • What do you always get asked to do or help with?
  • What can you do in your sleep?
  • What comes easily to you?

Write down every single thing and then ask yourself, what would I love to do everyday and would feel thrilled to get paid for?

As you write your list, remember what comes naturally to you, doesn’t come naturally to everyone… Your skill set, your experience, your education, and your natural abilities all point to an amazing business that you can absolutely create an income from.

If you have mastered being hard on yourself or undervaluing yourself, ask your friends or spouse to help you with this step.

4. Decide that you know enough to start now.

Get started where you are and learn new skills as it’s necessary… Keep in mind that in entrepreneurship, degrees and certifications are less important than learning sales, marketing, and mastering your mindset.

The best rule of thumb is to learn, implement, learn, implement… Business isn’t theory and success happens when you roll your sleeves up, experiment, practice, get it wrong, improve, and try again.

5. Treat your business with the respect it deserves.

Imagine going to a job whenever you felt like it… Imagine being offered a raise when you showed up to work distracted, looking haggard, and doing less than your best.

A business demands your attention, time, and dedication. It’s no different than any career… it requires you to show up consistently and act like the CEO.
